Day 1(------): Start from Entebbe (before 2pm) or be picked from a Hotel. Transfer to Lake Mburo NP.

The pick-up will be from either; the Hotel or from the Entebbe Airport upon arrival. The assigned Professional English-speaking Tour Driver-guide will pick/receive you and hit the road to Lake Mburo National Park. Mburo is a compact gem, located conveniently close to the highway that connects Entebbe/Kampala to the parks of western Uganda. It is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah National Parks but home to 350 bird species as well as animals such as: Giraffes, Zebra, impala, eland, buffalo, Defassa waterbuck, hippo, and the elusive leopard among others. On arrival, we shall check in and if we still have some time available, we can proceed for a late afternoon-to-evening game drive. Otherwise, we shall check in and have the evening at leisure – relaxing.

Day 2(------): Morning walking safari (Mburo). Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP. Game drive/safari.

We shall enjoy an early morning breakfast and then move out for the Mburo morning park (bush) walk in the presence of an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger-guide. On this morning guided walk, you will have the opportunity to encounter (at close range): Zebras, Giraffes and Eland, Topi and other antelope, Cape buffaloes among others. You may take the Trail to the top of the hills to see Lake Mburo and beyond. Thereafter, return to the accommodation for checkout and embark on a transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP. We expect to reach the accommodation in Queen in time for lunch, short rest and then proceed out for game viewing. During the game drive, we have opportunity to encounter; herds of buffalos or elephants, lion pride, elusive leopard, warthogs, a number of antelopes among others. Thereafter, we shall return to the accommodation and you will take rest.

Day 3(------): Chimp tracking in Kyambura Gorge. Afternoon boat trip along the Kazinga Channel.

We shall have breakfast and proceed for the Chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura gorge. The gorge is home to habituated Chimpanzees plus other primates including baboons, monkeys and also bird species. Today, you will spend the early part of the day tracking chimpanzees here. Thereafter, return to the accommodation for some rest time and lunch. After lunch, you will go for a 2-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel that connects Lakes George and Edward. During the trip, the sight of wildlife including giant hippos, elephants and crocodiles among others will fascinate you. You will also see many varieties of birds at the water shores. After the boat trip, you can proceed for a brief late afternoon game drive and thereafter, return to the lodge.

Day 4(------): Sunrise game drive – Kasenyi plains. Head to Ishasha sector and connect to Bwindi.

Be up early and proceed for an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. Be on the look for Cape buffalos, herds of elephants, lions, leopards (though hard to spot) among others. Return to the lodge and check out then head to Ishasha sector in search of tree-climbing lions. The chance of spotting these lions is about 70% though sometimes they are hard to spot (most especially when they are down in the grassland looking for prey). Should you get to spot them, the sight is picturesque and memorable. From Ishasha, we shall continue to the accommodation at the edge of Bwindi National Park (Ruhija sector) – arriving in the evening (around 5 or 6pm).

#Optional (extra cost USD 120$): You may consider experiential lion tracking that will see you join a member of the predator research team who will eventually lead you to this expedition. The lions to be tracked have radio collars attached on them and through a complex designed radio system, you are fully assured of seeing the lions.

Day 5(------): Gorilla trekking Bwindi Forest and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.

Have breakfast and move to the rangers’ post. You will receive some briefing (from a ranger guide) on the dos and don’ts during trekking. Thereafter, you will enter the Bwindi Forest for your adventure. The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular! The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle but endangered giants is unforgettable. Return to the accommodation, check out and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is framed by lush, green-terraced hills that reach a height of (2,200 – 2,478m) but it’s the 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water that make it most magical — you could admire them all day.

Day 6(-----): Relaxed breakfast. Return to Entebbe and fly out (18:00hrs or later).

You will have a relaxed breakfast with spectacular view of the Bunyonyi little islands just right in front of you. Thereafter, you will hit the road for the return to Entebbe (arriving in the late afternoon/evening) for your flight out (18:00hrs or later). Expect a stop at the Equator for lunch and also you can take some memorable photos.

Day 1(------): Arrive at Entebbe Airport. Pick up and transfer to the booked Hotel.

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a Home to Africa assigned English-speaking Professional Tour Driver-guide will receive and welcome you to Uganda – the Pearl of Africa. Thereafter, you will transfer to the booked accommodation. You will check in and take your rest – recovering from jet lag, adjusting to time difference. #Optional (extra cost): Just in case you reached early and interested in some activity, you may consider; a). excursion to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens to sight a few primates and birds, b). excursion to Mabamba wetland in search of the prehistoric shoebill stork. Otherwise, check in and just take your rest.

Day 2(------): Travel to Zziwa for an hour of rhino tracking. Proceed to Murchison NP.

Be up early, have breakfast and drive off to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary – a successful conservation effort that was set to save the near-extinct rhino population in Uganda. Today, visitors to Uganda have a chance to encounter rhinos thanks to this effort. Once in Zziwa, we will proceed for an hour of on-foot rhino tracking. From the rhino tracking, we will drive off to Masindi where you will have a lunch stop. After lunch, we will embark on the last leg of our journey for today that will see us overnight at the booked accommodation in Murchison Falls National Park. The highlights of this park include the roaring rapids of the Murchison Falls, the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park where you will have the chance of viewing lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalos, and elephants etc. We hope to reach with some time available to go out on a game drive. Otherwise, you can check in and stay at leisure.

Day 3(-------): Morning game drive. Afternoon boat trip and continue with hike to the top of the falls.

Have your breakfast, depart for an early morning game drive across the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park and be on the look for wildlife including: lions, leopards (though hard to spot), herd of buffalos, herd of elephants, journey of giraffes among others. For any birder, there are quite a number of birds to sight too during the drive. Return to the accommodation for some rest time and lunch. After lunch, you will head out for the boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls where you will also be able to catch sight of more animals including Hippos and several birds. Continue with a hike to the top of the falls. The hike (Approx. 1 hour) is a bit a strenuous one but the thrill on reaching the top is unforgettable. Return to the accommodation and relax.

Day 4(------): Another morning game drive. Transfer to the edges of Kibale Forest NP.

Be up early, have breakfast and we move out for our last game drive here. On the game drive, be on the look for wildlife including: lions, leopards (though hard to spot), herd of buffalos, herd of elephants, journey of giraffes among others. Thereafter, embark on a transfer to the edge of Kibale Forest National Park. The drive is quite long but incredibly scenic – passing through villages, lush green countryside and hills dotted with tea plantations that characterize this part of Uganda. The beautiful scenery will amaze you all the way. Upon arrival at the accommodation, check in and just relax.

Day 5(-------): Kibale Forest walk/trek. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP. Game drive.

Have breakfast and move out to explore the Kibale Forest. Best known for chimpanzee tracking, Kibale Forest has something else to offer. The park’s nature walk will uncover for you some of Kibale rarely talked about residents including mammals like the duikers, forest hogs, butterflies, and the rich vegetation. There are also several amphibian and reptile species as well. The park has a resident population of African forest elephants as well. Thereafter, we shall embark on a transfer (about 2hrs) to Queen Elizabeth National Park.  You will reach Queen early enough to have lunch, rest and then proceed out for game viewing. During the game drive, look out for wild animals like buffaloes, elephants, lions to mention but a few. Alternatively, you could choose to; (a) go for the Queen’s breathtaking explosion crater drive (instead). The drive is sightseeing with very spectacular view of the breathtaking scenery in and around Queen. Later, enjoy dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8(-------): Bwindi Forest walk/hike - waterfalls trail. Transfer to the Ruhija sector of Bwindi.

We will have breakfast and then move out for the Forest walk along the waterfall trail. This is the perfect way to experience the depth of this “impenetrable” forest. Starting from Buhoma – at the north gate, Munyaga river trail gets you to some beautiful pristine waterfalls – a truly rewarding experience. Along the way you will encounter some flora and fauna, black and white colobus monkeys, sometimes blue monkeys among others. Return to the accommodation, check out and transfer to the Ruhija sector of Bwindi where we will have the gorilla trekking tomorrow. With a strenuous day ahead, we recommend that we take this afternoon relaxing.

Day 9(------): Gorilla trekking Bwindi Forest. Transfer to Kisoro – near Mgahinga NP.

Have breakfast and move to the rangers’ post. You will receive some briefing (from a ranger guide) on the dos and don’ts during trekking. Thereafter, you will enter the Bwindi Forest for your adventure. The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular! The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle but endangered giants is unforgettable. Return to the accommodation, check out and transfer to Kisoro – close to Mgahinga NP.

Day 10(------): Drive to Mgahinga NP. Move in for the Batwa trail excursion. Return and rest.

Be up early, have breakfast and thereafter we shall drive off to Mgahinga NP. Once at the rangers’ post, we shall receive an on-the-ground guide who will take us into the Mgahinga Forest as we try to trace and understand the life that the Batwa people lived before this became a protected area. This is the Batwa trail – a cultural experience led by Batwa guides who take you through the park to reveal to you some of the secrets of the forest that kept them going for years before moving out of this place. The tour often climaxes in; visiting the Garama cave (a former hideout for the Batwa warriors) and then sometimes some traditional music that will surely invite you to the dance floor. After all this very enlightening experience, we shall return to the lodge and stay at leisure – enjoying the facility. Alternatively, you can do golden monkey trekking at extra 20$ pp.

Day 11(-------): Transfer (5hrs) to Lake Mburo National Park. Enjoy a game drive.

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and then, set off to Lake Mburo NP. Mburo is a compact gem, located conveniently close to the highway that connects Entebbe/Kampala to the parks of western Uganda. It is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah National Parks but home to so many bird species as well as animals such as: Giraffes, Zebra, impala, eland, buffalo, and the elusive leopard among others. We shall arrive and check in for some rest before heading out for a late afternoon-to-evening game drive that will bring us up close with the Mburo inhabitants. Finally, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. #Optional (extra cost 30$ pp.): If interested, you may consider the night game drive to encounter nocturnal creatures which will be a rare sighting compared to the regular daytime sightings.

Day 12(-------): Morning walking safari in the park. Return to Entebbe to catch flight.

Enjoy your early breakfast and proceed for the Mburo morning park (bush) walk in the presence of an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger-guide. On this early morning guided walk, you will have the opportunity to encounter (at close range): Zebras, Giraffes and Eland, Topi and other antelope, Cape buffaloes among others.

Take the Trail to the top of the hills and see Lake Mburo and beyond. From this vantage point, you will have a great view of 9 of the twelve lakes surrounding Lake Mburo NP. Thereafter, return to the accommodation for checkout and then hit the road to Entebbe airport to catch flight (1800hrs or later).
